Common questions.
Things people ask most often. If your question isn't here, email hello@continio.app.
Memory and context
A few possibilities. The thing you said wasn't the kind of thing it picks up (questions, opinions, things about other people, very short messages). It picked it up but wasn't confident enough about it. Or it picked it up but other memories were more relevant to this particular question. Check Settings → My Context to see what's actually there.
Continio only surfaces what you've actually said to it. If you told a different AI tool something, it won't know unless you import that history or tell it directly. It will never make up a memory.
Go to Settings → My Context. Find the memory, click Edit, and update the detail. Changes take effect on your next message. If the memory is completely wrong, delete it. You can also add correct context manually via the + button.
Deleting removes it permanently. Archiving keeps it preserved but inactive. It won't affect your responses, but you can restore it any time from the Archived section at the bottom of My Context. Archive old memories that were true once but aren't current. Delete things that were never accurate or you want gone completely.
Personal facts about you (where you live, who's in your life, your work) are global, they apply across all your projects. Project-specific memory and workspace files stay scoped to each project. Continio always has your life context, regardless of which project you're in.
Responses and models
The most common reason is that Continio hasn't picked up enough about you yet, especially if you're new and haven't imported any history. Give it a few real conversations. Also check My Context to see what's actually there. If memories are present but replies still feel generic, hit thumbs down on a reply and tell us what you were expecting.
When Continio is doing something like reading a file, writing a file, or running a web search, there's a pause while that's happening. The "almost there..." indicator shows this is normal. If it stops completely without finishing, use Regenerate to try again.
Yes - use the AI selector next to the message input. Your selection applies to that chat. Starting a new chat resets to Auto. Auto is recommended for most use cases; picking yourself is useful when you have a strong preference for a specific AI's style.
If you attached an image, Continio switches to GPT-4o for that message because some models don't support vision (Grok, Haiku, GPT-4o mini). GPT-4o handles the image and your previous model selection resumes on the next message.
Files and workspace
A file attached to a conversation exists only in that chat. Workspace files are persistent - uploaded once, available to any conversation at any time. The workspace is a Pro feature; per-chat file attachment is available on all tiers.
ZIP extraction supports text-based files only. Binary files, images, PDFs, and files over 200KB per individual file are skipped. HEIC images are not supported - convert to JPEG or PNG first. If the ZIP contained only binary files, nothing will be extracted.
When you delete a chat, Continio shows you any workspace files linked to it and lets you choose whether to remove them. They are not deleted automatically - you have to explicitly choose to remove them.
Models and privacy
No. The default Auto routing uses Anthropic and OpenAI APIs, both of which have zero data retention on API calls - your conversations are not used to train their models. If you manually select Grok, xAI's data terms apply, which are different. A note is shown in the AI selector when you choose Grok so you can make an informed choice.
Account and billing
Your subscription starts automatically at the end of your trial period. A card is required to start your trial, but nothing is charged during the 30 days. You'll get a reminder email 7 days before your trial ends. If you cancel before the trial ends, you won't be charged. Your data stays intact regardless of which plan you're on.
You keep access until the end of your billing period, then move to Basic. Your data is not deleted. Anchors above the Basic limit are retained but inactive, workspace files are retained but not accessible. You can export everything from Settings → Export at any time.
Founders is a limited-availability offer for early members. You get Pro pricing locked for life (or Max pricing if you choose Founder Max), even if prices rise later. Founders also get early access to new features and a direct say in what ships next.
